Description: Anne had a good life as a mother and a postal worker until she fell in love with her minister -- a married man. When Anne became determined to end the relationship the minister became a monster. He stalked her mail truck route all hours of the day, spied through her windows, stole her clothes, and read her mail. Anne felt she had lost control of her life. She obtained a restraining order. The police arrested him three times. Eventually the only way she felt safe in her home was with a gun under the bed. A Canadian police study and coroner's report from 1974 to 1990 showed that out of 551 cases of murdered women, 45% were caused by a man's rage over the actual or impending estrangement from his partner. In 1994, the Nashville Police Department established a domestic violence unit, spearheaded by Sergeant Mark Wynn. Its mission is to save women's lives. Trained detectives use a variety of pro-active methods for "stalking the stalkers." Since the operation began, femacides in Nashville have decreased 80%.
