Photographische Rundschau und Mitteilungen

Photographische Rundschau und Mitteilungen began as Photographische Rundschau in Vienna in 1887. The magazine was designed specifically for the amateur photographer, and is one of the earliest examples of publications produced for the emerging non-professional market. The magazine was devoted to a broad understanding of photography, presenting fine art criticism alongside scientific and technical developments, as well as news from camera clubs and organizations. The magazine was illustrated with lavish, high-quality reproductions and is notable for promoting the work of important photographers from all over the world. Significant photographers include Edward Weston, Frederick H. Evans, Imogen Cunningham, Ewald Hoinkis, František Drtikol, D.J. Ruzicka, and Hans Kammerer.
